I think that this is the ideal job for me since I am an International Studies major with a minor in Geography. I also took courses in International Business and enjoyed taking it. I have attached my resume with this email.”
Why, why, why would anyone think this would be effective? GrouperEye creates software for companies to find/hire/evaluate students quickly – this internship cover letter tells me nothing!
FYI….The internship posted was a “social media internship” position.
What this cover letter says to me about the candidate:
- Doesn’t care enough about my company to do any research.
- Spams his resume.
- Thinks my time isn’t important.
- No attention to detail.

Couldn’t agree more. You absolutely will not connect with whoever your employer if you write like this. Typical, unoriginal cover letters are easily pushed aside.
